i got lucky on wednesday - i have a tower of vinyl
in a cheapass ikea piece of crap - and it didn't
get tossed around, like the rest of my place. the
reason is, apparently things shook on the east-west
axis and all my tall stuff was unstable on the
north-south. loads of things fell off shelves, loads
of rekkids slid around the wood floors, but *nothing
irreplaceable* got broken. the floors are gouged
from things falling off and all, but that's pretty
much it. well, that, frayed nerves and a cat that
won't stop puking. fun.
i should think storing vinyl lower is wiser - like
in those nice sturdy plastic bins w/ lids that can
be stacked, because it's so heavy if it falls you're
screwed.
