Coachella: Empire Polo Field - Indio, California
October 9-10 1999 (2 of the best days of my life)
Note: Comments have been applied in parenthesis next to those
shows I attended.
This listing has been painstakingly typed in from the little
Guide book handed out at the entrances. Glad I still have it :)
Also, somewhere amidst all of this, the legendary Black Elvis
showed up with the Ultra Magnetic MC's and threw out
bags of crispy chicken to the audience. Damn that was one
of the sickest hip-hop acts I've ever seen. Kool Keith is the shit.
I don't know which day or time though because it was a surprise performance.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday Schedule
Mojave
The Angel aka 60 Channels - 2:15
BT - 3:20 (put on a high energy "live" set which consisted of him pressing
'play' on the keyboard and then just going nuts onstage - people loved it
though - lotsa smoke and lights)
Banco de Gaia - 4:30 (put together a terrible live set which sounded nothing
like his older ethnic [circa Maya and Last Train to Lhasa] stuff and much
more like his newer shit I can't stand - I actually left this set midway
through the electric guitars - very disappointing)
Fantastic Plastic Machine - 5:50
Lamb - 7:10 (such a beautiful set - truly live - with drums bass and
vocals - another highlight of this festival - unfortunately after this set

That's all !
I hope those of you that went had as much fun as I did.
The word on the street and various publications is that
Goldenvoice (the organizers) lost millions on this event.
I believe that's why this years event is *much* more
scaled down.
sorry for the length of this post.
