I myself don't necessarily need the funky, danceable basslines and rhythms, and I do love a lot of the cold computery glitchiness, but I have to agree with the "non-musical" statement. I haven't heard the new Richard Devine yet, but one of the reasons his old stuff wasn't in heavy rotation is because there isn't that much for my brain to grab onto outside of the frenetic left-right panning rhythms. I still like those tunes, but find myself longing for a bassline. Which is probably the reason I still love stuff like Meat Beat Manifesto and Speedy J. And also one of the reasons why I grew tired of the whole Ant Zen sound years ago. Crunchy aggro distorted drums can sound great and all, but I need more than that. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
