I'm really grooving on the recent Savath+Savalas album, and have pulled out my Delarosa rekkids once again, and I'm now wondering if my Scott Herren collection is complete. Here's what I've got - anyone know of anything missing? Delarosa/U-Sheen: Let's Talk Swimming Pools split 12" (Fluid Ounce) Delarosa: Sleep Method Suite LP (Clockwise) Delarosa+Asora: Crush the Sight-Seers EP (Pearineel) Savath+Savalas: Folk Songs... CD (Hefty) comp/remix appearances: Lilly of the Valley CD (Schematic) Slicker remix CD (Hefty) (I have a feeling there might be more in my collection somewhere, but I don't feel like digging...) One more Herren-related question - anyone know what speed the "Sleep Method Suite" record should be played at? I looks like a full-length so I've always played it at 33, but I gave it a spin at 45 last night by mistake and realized some of the tracks sounded better. Hmmm. This is a good point: --- \Its funny but as we've all said "this or that sounds like autechre" I get \the feeling scott is going to be one of those types of situations. He has \definitely innovated past the tried by 12 phase of mixing idm with hiphop. \his dj set on the warp site is really good as well, gives a good sense of \where he's coming from --- I'd agree somewhat. he is very innovative. however -- Bill says: --- \I thought it was funny the warp main page said a while back he was \"rebuiling hip hop from the roots up" or something ridiculous like \that.....I hardly call sampling other hip hop records building from the \ground up. I consider the Mantronix stuff with just the drum machines and \the synths one of the few people that could fit that description, actually \creating their own beats and not relying on sampling for everything. --- I disagree, Bill. I think he's pioneered a new style of hip-hop. I think lots will agree with me here. Maybe I am leavign someone out that influenced him? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I third it... best thing i've heard in ages... my faveourite tracks are 2,3,4 - swipe width/wiffle/two hum excellent, get everything by this guy (prefuse73+savath&savalas) i've just ordered the Backsome EP too. The savath & savalas is really good too, quite similar to Agony in many ways. more live instruments... but similar textures... The prefuse73 is probably his least interesting stuff (still excellent tho)... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
