This gives me the opportunity to tell you that the next Electric Company full length cd "Slow Food" will be released on Planet Mu on April 9th. It contains collaborations with Lexaunculpt & Kid 606 (but not Moby, yet). For mp3's of 6 of the tracks go to the discography section of: http://www.planet-mu.com This cd continues in the same vein production-wise as Exitos but is more poppy & melodic overall. Still contains weirdness. While I'm here check out the site for the other great releases this year by artists including: Venetian Snares with Speedranch!!(!) o9! Boards Of Fucking Canada! Joseph Nothing! (aka rom=pari)!! Coil! Leafcutter John! Bit_Meddler! Pole! Venetian Snares(solo)! Four Tet! Matmos! Kettel! Electric Company! Tim Tetlow! Nicole Elmer (aka Neutral)! Dykehouse(the infamous)!! DJ Hellfish! [(c)Planet Mu is not an idm label] Mike p Date: Sat, 10 Feb 2001 17:32:14 -0500 To: IDM <idm@hyperreal.org> From: Andrei <andrei@world.std.com> Subject: Re: [idm] Lexaunculpt Message-ID: <Pine.SGI.4.21.0102101656450.4530-100000@world.std.com> On Sat, 10 Feb 2001, component wrote:

The CD-R consisted of a few tracks from the two 12"s and various remixes (Kid606, IQU) and tracks which have appeared on comps. I think pretty much all the tracks have been released by now. There might have been an Electric Company remix or collaboration on there which isn't out yet. I (finally) got the Leafcutter John album on Friday and have been attempting to wrap my head around it since. All I can, say is, wow!, you kids owe it to yourself to check it out. This is really intense and beautiful stuff. It's releases like these that remind me why I listen to music. It is challenging and surprising yet very beautiful at the same time. Highly recommended, to say the least. Bill At 09:09 AM 2/11/2001 +0000, you wrote:

I'm glad to see someone finally commented on this release. It is an excellent album and deserves some recognition. Although it is early days, its probably the best release of 2001 so far and will certainly make my end of year list this year. Can't praise "Microcontact" highly enough. Very complex evolving intense music. You owe it to yourself to check it out! :) Posted about this a week or so ago, just after the album was released and was amazed nobody commented on how good it is. Looks to me as though Planet Mu have taken over the essential label vacancy that Rephlex left a while ago. ;) Paul --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
