Anyone got any recommendations for tracks utilising reasonably un-tampered-with found sounds in a rhythmic fashion? I've heard Spooky's 'Found Sound', Matthew Herbert's various projects (eg. Doctor Rockit, Wishmountain, Radio Boy), and those fantastic Mark Hadley tracks on 'State of the Art Heirloom'. Actually, Mark Hadley's tracks aren't rhythmic (from memory), but I really enjoy them, nonetheless. thanks in advance, Michael --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Matmos' "Quasi-Objects" sounds to be right up your alley. They make tracks using balloons, whoppee cushions, walkie-talkies, the human body and stretched a wet latex t-shirt. Yeah, I was wondering if that was a dodgy call on my part..... A couple of the tracks seem based around hitting metal things hard and playing melodies on those sounds. None of the tracks are solely found sounds, but that wasn't what I was restricting the question to.
