..are the band of 2001. without question. fsck radiohead. anyhow, PPOT have kindly provided the Internet with a mp3 bootleg of their performance at The Party '00 demo-conference in Denmark over the holidays :) http://www.hybrisnemesis.com/ppot/ _highly_ recommended. for all those scratching their heads, they're a C64 game-music covers-band. every wanted to hear "Ghost And Goblins" or "Commando" rock out, prog-metal style? here's your chance. and the organ solo in "Out Run" has warped my tiny mind. regards, h0l (http://www.monotonik.com) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i believe the perfect response to this kind of post comes from a simple cut-and-paste ... "IDM is a mailing list for (dis)cussing Aphex Twin & the new breed of Warp/AI music from UK back in 1992, which has grown into a (mainly) American nerdy white boy mailing list famous for liking the safest, crappest, most apparently cerebral (ie lots of bleak programming) unemotional techno there is." video game music covers. sheesh. can't get much worse than that. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

WHATEVER. These guys are fucking awesome! What sort of bullshit is that, "ideo game music covers. sheesh. can't get much worse than that." I really enjoyed hearing this stuff, as all of the themes conjur memories of some of my favorite games, albeit most of them played in their post commodore 8bit versions. Another group anyone who likes this should check out are "the minibosses" they do crazy dual metal guitar shit and remix nintendo themes, what's awesome tho is they do all of the little note glides and changes just like the 8bit versions... cdin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I would have thought (some time ago) that covering video games was a pretty sad way to do things until I heard Lex's "Samus". That remix of the Metroid theme kicked ass and changed my opinion.

it means that this list is just as geeky as its critics claim. you can't get much more geeky than being into bands that cover video game themes.

maybe it's me, but i wouldn't really consider this band (as you describe it) to be "intelligent", "dance"-able, or "music"-al. it's just mass geek synergy at its worst. the second band sounds just as lame as the first. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
