Mkay... I'm looking for music that draws *heavily* from 8-bit Nintendo-music. Retro analogue melodies.. I'm a complete sucker for scores to *so* many old titles, and I'd really like to find music/artists outside of this context, but still in the same vein. SunSoft had a distinct sound, as evident in the first Batman-game, "Journey To Silius" and "Ufouria", among others. Capcom and Konami as well. Castlevania had some great music.. It just strikes a chord inside of me, reminiscent of the past and all that, and finding music produced with the same elements in mind, would really mean a lot to me. It's all about nostalgia. I'm all ears for any potential suggestions. Thanks, /Galuf_

Sounds like you definitely need to hear: Tim Koch :: Please Don't Tell Me That's Your Volvo on Aural Industries. Here's the review taken from the excellent http://www.igloomag.com/ site... Many of you are well aware of Tim Koch's (Thug) Isolated Rhythm Chock from 1999.. it combined breathtaking electronica with distorted beats, odd rhythms, and cute melodies. Well Please Don't Tell Me That's Your Volvo is a logical step ahead for Tim. The intersection between electronic listening and digital quirkiness seems to collide peacefully when Thug turns on his musical skills. This release is an extension of that theme, with a little twist.. Within 60 minutes, Tim manages to assimilate video-game styled electronica tied to flowing blips and bleeps in a similar vein as Lackluster, Plod, Arovane and even Plaid (yes, Plaid). I'm still wondering why Thug hasn't appeared on the latest Nintendo or PlayStation video-game as his incredible grooves are an exhausting (yet fun) workout for the ears! Thanks for the suggestion, although I have to say that I'm well aware of Thug and his records. You're right though, his music is something that truly appeals to me. Appreciate it anyways, /Galuf_ ----- Original Message ----- From: "John" <turbo@zipworld.com.au> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Cc: <matte.viklund@telia.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2001 12:10 AM Subject: [idm] Re: Looking for suggestions..
