heeheeheee - i think it's homogenous, not androgynous? i'm imagining Plod
and Isan going round in David Bowie-style 70s glam-rock outfits now and it's
just rocking my world :)
since that's not a constructive comment in the slightest, here's a
half-assed Top Ten albums/12"s of 2000 from me (in no order):
--
Ugly Duckling - "Journey To Anywhere"
[damn, feel-good supa-skilful daisy-age rap kicks my ass every time!]
Fun Tourist - "CDR"
[forthcoming on Worm Interface, the man to watch for Vibert/Jenkinson fans!]
Deltron 3030 - "S/T"
[Del is the best, Automator and Kid Koala are the best, what can you say?]
Blur - "Best Of"
[the singles, follies and all, are really the best way to appreciate
the best pop act of the '90s.]
Various - "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? OST"
[ok, so i need to buy it first, ahem, but "A Man Of Constant Sorrow" and
"Down By The River" are just gorgeous.]
Boards Of Canada - "In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country"
[predictably and wonderfully charming - this can only be good.]
Kernkraft 400 - "Zombie Nation"
[single of the year by a mile, originally on International Deejay
Gigolos and a massive European hit, C64 cheekily-stolen electro-phonk with
the biggest hook this side of NeverNeverLand..]
Lackluster - "Container"
[personal ties not-withstanding, still a beautiful album..]
Savath + Savalas - "Folk Songs.."
[still need time to let this one sink in, but feels like the future in a
weirdly indescribable way.]
Vibert/Cole - "S/T"
[Mouse On Mars played this before _and_ after they went on when I saw them
in Santa Cruz - which says a lot.]

happy xmas!
