Well, when it comes to Aphex, his most commercially successful release was
Come To Daddy, which WARP and Sire to this day make a fortune off it. A Sire
exec told me that Windowlicker (in sept 99, 5 months after release) was
moving 200 units per week. I'd venture to guess they sell quite a bit.

Andrei seyz: And plus people like Aphex and Autechre
sell
tens if not hundreds of thousands of records worldwide
so is their
music
demeaned by this shifting of a lot of units ?

Anyone have figures or links for what the big acts
sell? Chain Reaction type records? If you are a well
known artist making music discussed on this list
what's a good run for an album? I thought this whole
thing was more obscure? I guess big enough as BoC on
Jockey Slut cover and all, hmmm... I always thought
sales were more in the low thousands... A big record
can really make an indie label then?
np. Requiem for a Dream soundtrack
(looked up the Kronos Quartet and didn't realize they
were so massive, they've worked with everyone from
Reich and Glass down, and commissioned some 400 works
from modern composers...)
