Hello friends, I need id's for these songs. The first has a chick saying, "The dominatrix sleeps tonight" and it has a catchy little electro sound. I'm guessing it's 89' or 90'? Next is an 80's dance sounding number. I believe it's a remix type thing. The song sounds kind of depechemodeish/camoflauge style. He sings, "Why would you crucify me". Only it's like, "Whhyyy would youuu... Cruciiiifyyy meeee." then it goes into a little depeche style synth. Any ideas? The last one has a guy in a raspy kind of voice saying, "well their is no love between us, anyyymoore" And ithas a dark little synth after he says that. There'salso samples of some lady saying, "he loves me, he loves me not" And there's a madonna sample saying, "Yeahhah" A little guitar sample too. Pretty clubby late 80's sounding. any ideas? thanks a lot. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores. the first track is called the dominatrix sleeps tonight by dominatrix, it came out on streetwise records in the mid 80's, you can also find in to the recent Andrew Weatherall compilation called 9 O'clock drop (on nuphonic) the second track is called Crucify me and its by Moev, I believe that came out on netwerk around 1989. The last song is by Pop Will eat itself and is probably from around 1989 as well. hope this helps. ____________________________________________ p l u m b d e s i g n Adesh Deosaran | Information Designer 157 chambers st ny ny 10007 p.212-285-8600 x240 f.212-285-8999 -----Original Message----- From: 101 101 [mailto:xtc808101@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, December 11, 2000 9:40 AM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: [idm] Very old 80's id's Hello friends, I need id's for these songs. This came out in the early 80's was produced by Ivan Ivan who dj'd at the Pyramid in NYC and is called The Dominatrix. Think Weatherall recently put it on his nuphonic compilation. in fact the other two sound like tracks off this compilation as well. filled with early 80's pre-electro cheese.

I just saw a 12" cover at the local store with the words "The Dominatrix sleeps tonight".... so if anything, you can do a netsearch for it using those exact words.

HAHA! That would be Moev. The song is called "Crucify Me". The song dates from 1988 or 1989, I think? I vaguely remember that "Crucify Me" was a bit of a departure for them and that their other songs were more of the Mission/Echo&Bunnymen/Siouxsie brand, but more synth pop.

Pop Will Eat Itself "There Is No Love Between Us Anymore" from the album "Box Frenzy", from 1987. If you can find it, get the "limited" 12" version of that song. Contains a really nice "scratch version" of the song, that would be resampled in the PWEI song "Psychosexual". ... Dear god. Does that mean we can talk about Minimal Compact, The Bolshoi, Crazyhead, Single Gun Theory, Cassandra Complex, and Zodiac Mindwarp? ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
