I'm sure this has been asked a few times before, but since I can't search the archives, I'll have to ask it again - Could anyone recommend people who make the "nature documentary" type of organ music that inspired BoC? I actually spent more than an hour poking around the National Film Board of Canada's site hoping to find a way to search their archives by musicians, but that ultimately proved fruitless. If anyone could tell me the names of even just a couple musicians and albums, it'd make my week for sure. Thanks! Mark, Damn, good find! You uncovered another BoC mystery! "Kanini Industries" was named after a company founded the same year as marcus' birth that helped out native American Indians in Canada. "Smoke's Quantity is named after a friend of theirs, and "The color of the fire" is named after that same friend's psychedelic experience. ROYGBIV is the colour spectrum of the rainbow. Anybody know any more BoC song references? someone said "or get a video and look through the credits" or something. actually, it was brought to my attention that you can view the soundtrack producer's name and sometimes a link to his stuff on the national filmboard's website. www.nfb.ca i believe. look to products or something, find an old video, and the credits will list the music makers. cheaper than purchasing a video. cheers, /derek - - - - - - "Extremism is no vice when God's on your side" -Opus the Penguin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
