***I don't want to drag this out, but I have to chip in on this: I like the new Ian Pooley album, but it's almost 100% latin (the house tempo and downtempo stuff) and not at all minimal; the Daft Punk album, though incredible, again doesn't fall into the same music-style category as the Luomo; the two house/tech house tracks on the new Photek album (both of which I love as I am a huge Robert Owens fan) are not Luomo-like; I cannot stand Terry Lee Brown Jr (a) don't appreciate a white person pretending he is black and using caricatures (pardon my spelling, i've been up all night); and being half-german myself, i definitely don't appreciate a german doing something stupid such as that; and b) i think his music sounds like sparkly soul-less synthethic goop; and do i like many things on plastic city, btw, so i'm only knocking tlbjr here), BUT I can objectively say that his music does not compare to Luomo style-wise; I liked the Indio album on Transmat, but it wasn't house/tech house; and I am a HUGE Larry Heard fan, but, again, his music does not compare music-style-wise to the Luomo. Love or hate the Luomo, Delay continues to show that he is able to record stunning electronic music in a wide variety of styles-- something many attempt to do, but a feat few attempt. pardon the rant, and i mean nothing personal, gil, i just didn't want your list to be taken as luomo-like. thanks. andrew duke :) -- Cognition/Andrew Duke's In The Mix 3rd annual Fundraising Auction for CKDU is now underway: http://techno.ca/cognition auction ends Wednesday November 29 at 12noon AST --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

sorry to continue on this, but i was asking for well-produced deephouse, not things that are supposed to sound like luomo. luomo seems to have a space of it's own and i don't need anyone to start pointing me to stuff that sounds exactly like it.. res to vladislav delay. i've got a cdr of ian pooley: since then, and i've heard the photek: solaris. daft punk:homework has been lying around. also bought the new jori hulkkonen 'when no one is watching we are invisible'. great. 'since then' has this one lovely track '900 degrees', the rest are _ace_. global communication: the way/the deep & the groove also own. what more is there to find? Andrew Duke wrote:

Terry Lee Brown's "Chocolate Chords" is nice. Jesper Dahlback's "Stockholm Mix Session" is good - very smooth. The "My House" CD comp.with "The Way"on it is really nice(CD is mixed by Jeff K) The Recloose eps on Planet E are great and so is Paperclip People's (aka Carl Craig) "For My Peepz" CDep (this is killer). A LOT of the Matthew Herbert stuff is *very* nice indeed. Love a good chunk of the Larry Heard stuff. My memory always fails me when I try to think of stuff...as soon as I hit 'send', I'll think of a zillion things I should have had which are essential. jeff esa ruoho wrote:
