So I received a promo of Jan Jelinek's new 2x12" on ~Scape yesterday - called something like "loop-finding-jazz-records," and I'm tempted upon first listen to say it's his best work yet. I know, I know, that's way premature, but it's certainly right up there with the Farben & Gramm work. Interestingly, he - like Brinkmann - is returning to jazz & soul records in search of loops, but the sound doesn't reflect the source in the slightest. Instead it's beautiful, powdery stuff, somewhere in the realm of Farben, Dettinger, etc... Keep your eyes peeled for it!
