LANCE COMMENTS -- The ever-impressive CCO label comtinues to impress with this new comp featuring 15 original tracks by a wide variety of today's more popular electronic artists. this comp consists of tracks that the producers would love to hear while shopping at the supermarket and therefore, for the most part, have a very light playful often poppy edge to them styles here vary greatly from the new-wavey vocal electro of skanform's electronique supermarket to the warm glitchy medolies of opiate to the deep dubby tones of pole to the spacey etheral ambient pop of isan to the vocoder-heavy 80s pop-sounds of arovane and solvent. Cashier Escape Route contains nothing but light playful electronica (very much in the way the recent 'Putting The Morr Back In Morrisey' comp) that fans of Morr Music and City Centre Offices should love. Highly recommended.
PRESS INFO -- Roughly two years after we ventured into the world of City Centre Offices with our Berlin friends we are finally pleased to bring you our first compilation. Conceived as an album that would highlight the sound of Modern Supermarket music, the project slowly mutated into something a little more varied. We were excited by the notion that artists, some known and some unknown, who had developed an emotionally rich, dense sound, would have to apply their compositional skills on a brief that was somewhat more light hearted, commercial, throwaway. We sent of requests to our friends working in different countries and different fields and offered up our ideas. Then we waited. Slowly the tracks came in - fascinating us with the varying responses and reactions artists had to something which may or may not have been altogether new and different to them. The sound? we'll leave that to you to find out......
