well, i had to chime in with 4 more mentions, NONE of them idm or even
marginally electronix related:
Karp - saw three shows in Providence, RI (1995 - 1997?), and every time they
absolutely devastated me. heavy fucking metal. i've never headbanged like
that before or since.
US Maple - Fort Thunder, Providence, RI (1996) - an ungodly, beautiful noise
A Minor Forest - Providence, RI (1995 - ?) - again several shows, and always
mindblowing. fuck "mathrock," this was the cusp of order & chaos.
Poison Idea - Portland, OR (1987- 1990) - oh man, the heaviest band alive.
god, they were great. plus the forty-foot flames being blown by Jerry A,
out above the crowd's heads...
