Maceo Parker in Victoria September 2000 (as a side note, the length of time
between his set and his encore was about 15 minutes, no joke, with applause
consistant throughout)
Honorable mentions go to Jungle Brothers, Blackalicious, Mix Master Mike,
Roc Raida (!!!), The Clifford Gilberto Rhythm Combination & Ritchie Hawtin.
Oh yeah, and DJ Jazzy Jeff was cool.
Let downs: Amon Tobin, DJ Shortkut (he was playing with piss poor needles),
DJ Vadim, & Luke Vibert.
Wow, talk about a lack of IDM content. I'd love it if any IDM artists would
tour around here. I guess theres a higher concentration of IDM lovers in
Europe though.
Oh well. I'm looking forward to Coldcut next week in Vancouver. They'll be
my 11th Ninja Tune artist seen live. Anyone know how I could pick up a
ticket ahead of time? I live in Victoria, so it seems rather pointless to go
over for a day to buy a ticket, but stupid Sonar (which is actually a great
club) doesn't have ticketmaster. Arg. I really don't want to go over there
with my 4 friends, get accomodations and then be SOL for tix.
