Thanx for quite non agressive nature of your post (you could have said: hey, r y stupid? jamie rocks, you suck...) First I have to say I listened to it once only and yes I found it quite boring. It seems to me as just a travail of the man who knows that there's room for something new in idm though really distant from being talanted enough to pursue it.... That's my IMHO. Maybe I change my mind in the future, maybe not.... It is NOT excellent to my bad close-minded ears. sorry. Better try to listen to Christian Vogel - he's genious in such music and has lots of interesting releases on Tresor and now on Mute. If you ask me what was really good from what I've got lately I say: Metamatics "Spooktinselshoal" Arovane "Tides" L'usine icl "A pseudo steady state of mind" Pole "3" Biosphere "Cirque" Amon Tobin "Supermodified" Freeform "Green park" Coil "Music to play in the dark Vol I&II" Hexstatic "Rewind" These are really excellent releases and I did not fell in love with them from the very first listen yet it was obvious that the stuff rocks anyway at that time. It's like with new Ae - you listen to it first and think - what a mess.. yet I'm sure it is excellent and it'll grow on me... 8) btw. A month ago I wrote about Thug's "Isolated Rhythm.." and reflected negative reaction about it. Now I'm ready to say it is much better than it was from first listen. It is simple yet involving and tender. Alien np. Which begs the question : Is it true Warp only released Muddlin' Gear so they could get their hands on Mr Lidell?? Interesting idea. Erm - The new Jega is good. Kid 606 (no, no carry on reading) has created music with "PS I Love You" - Recommended! I found "Down with the Scene" extremely hard going, but kinda dig PS.... And the last track on the J Mascis and the Fog album is what all you My Bloody Valentine fans have been craving. (won't even pretend that's IDM) Best gigs....Well.... Squarepusher @ the Warp 10 parties. Maybe he's done better, I don't know, seen him the once and it blew my tiny little mind. Speaking of Mr J. - It's been a year since the last release - What, are you implimenting quality control Tom??? Don't bother man, that's why god invented skip buttons on CD players! Herbilizer (sp but I know) @ Glasto Y2G. I'd put A Perfect Circle @ Glasto in, but you'd all accuse me of being in love with the bassist or something.
