In a message dated 10/23/00 5:08:56 PM Pacific Daylight Time, Chris.Fahey@raremedium.com froths: << And exactly which part was exaggerated? You're probably not old enough to remember it, but Reagan was a disastrous president <snip!> >> Erm, "disastrous"...?!? Needless to say, Chris, there's a sizable body of historians, politicians, intellectuals and everyday citizens who might--for any number of reasons--take issue with your rather "zealous", shall we say, one-word summation/assessment of Reagan's lingering impact on our country.

But you're right. I'm pretty much a leftist. I accept that. But I'm not voting for Nader. This is important. >> To you, perhaps; not to me. And certainly not so important that we--all *1000* of us-- need to hear about it on an *IDM* list. I'm quite glad you're impassioned. I'm quite glad you're not voting for Nader. I'm not terribly excited you felt the need to spew on this list. Find the right forum to vent, friend. This ain't it.

I just wanted all of you Intelligent Dance Music folks to see that it's not unheard of for young people to actually care and know about politics. >> Righty-o, Chief. And some of us young snots actually *do* both know and care about politics, and have also taken considerable time to carefully exam relevant issues--and we're still planning on voting for Bush! <gasp!>

Go out and, um, vote for the intellegent one.

The, um, "intellegent" one, eh?? <Bites lip and winces, quickly reaching for the Spell Check one more time...> "You say pota-TOE, I say..." Likely the only registered Republican swaying (*conservatively*, of course, with appropriately dour countenance) to Funkstorung at the Justice League in SF two weeks ago, Joel np: L'usine ICL _A Psuedo Steady State_ (Crikey! But this is good. Am I the *only* one on this list who thinks it tops _L'usine_?!?) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

1) The Detroit Escalator Company ep _black buildings_ is top-notch. Perhaps it's more 313 stuff, but nonetheless beautiful and engaging. If you like melody and grace, this is the ep for you. It has certainly served its purpose of whetting my appetite for the forthcoming full-length. 2) Is anyone gonna tape that Sprout/Hydrant show in NY? 3) Will they send me a copy? 4) We are all intellectuals. 5) Who cares if Aphex has reached his peak. He certainly doesn't. 6) The Aphelion_Zugzwang_ album is lacking something ... it seems rather scattered and drifting (in a bad way). It's the first time I've been "disappointed" by the now-formidable DeFocus crew. 7) Is there a David Morley discography online? I didn't seem to find it ... Thanks. 8) Political content below.
