hello to those reading this (even to those not). i'm looking for so recommendations on some bad ass tunes. i've gained my collection thus far totally on my lonesome (i've met only a handful of kats that listen to idm-type stuff) and have begun to run out of directions to turn. thus far i really dig boards of canada and autechre(of course) and recently got bola soup(which is great), i have a buttload of other releases that vary from warp, skam and the like, but alot of what is out there seems mediocre to me. lately i've been listening to mellower stuff like lilienthal, lexuanculpt's tour cd-r, mira calix...i tend not to like harsh noisey stuff in the kid 606 vein(though p.s. i love is nice), more melodic stuff is where i'm reaching. any thoughts??? thanks josh np: lilienthal: castor and pollux http://community.webtv.net/Iacchus5/myneedlist --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

From the list of artists you have and like you'll definitely love Thug's "Isolated Rhythm Chock" (which got great reviews on this list when it came out, as well as in the press) and his new one (under his real name) Tim Koch's "Please Don't Tell Me That's your Volvo" both available from the fine folks at http://www.skimo.com/ or http://www.safetyinnumbers.net/ You can hear some mp3's snippets from the first release at http://www.listen.to/aural-industries and download the whole mp3's from a few of the tracks off the second by going to http://www.oninoz.com/thug/volvo.html There's also the label web site http://www.aural-industries.com.au/ which has exclusive mp3's for you to download of some very good tracks of his. One of which is seeing the light of day on the new deFocus 12" sampler. This guy is going to be really big!! Anyone on the list care to back me up on this? Or have an opinion on Tim's music they'd like to share with the others? Disclaimer: Yeah I run the aural-industries label, but Tim's music is genuinely good and deserves wider recognition. Hopefully I've provided you and others on this list who have been sleeping on his music enough sources to try it out for yourself and then decide to buy or pass on it based on whether or not you like what you heard...
