judging by the mortified response from many list members, you obviously weren't the only one horrified to hear these "(vomit-wince) house style vocals." but you know what? vomit & wince all you like, house is here to stay, it's an important form that remains creatively vital and in fact appears to be enjoying a pretty serious renaissance, so you'd probably just better get used to it. in fact, i'd go further and say that without house music, none of the electronic music you like today would be quite the same (with the possible exception of extreme noise folks). in the US it might be easier to ignore (and i don't know for sure that your'e in the US), but in the UK especially, dance music in general, at root, is inextricable from house music. a bit of history, and perhaps even (horrors) an open mind might be warranted here. phil --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I like lots of house and house-style music (if I make that distinction based on the recent dnb thread) but I don't think Photek's foray into whichever of the two he thought he was doing was particularly successful - the rest of the record is pretty good however.
