yeah, i'll go with that. although his songs don't really keep me listening. take drum n bass for papa. The first two songs are wicked, then it seems to go down hill after that. my 2 cents anyway! --- Matthew Guest <mguest@alphagraphics.com> wrote: > I've always thought Mistra Luke Vibert was quite

I have to agree with the above paragraph. A strange coincidence... it so happens that I put on this record today, before reading this post. I now remember why I very rarely play it. I have to disagree with the below paragraphs: That CD is fantastic and really engaging paying you back with listening pleasure for every track you hear. I love them all and cannot listen to it in parts - only entire CD. btw it is much better than all Wagon Christs together Alien On 19/10/00 10:04, Ben Hatchelt said in living color:

Yes ! It's excellent. Luke Vibert has many varied styles - D&B for Papa (done under his "Plug" guise) was a moment in time - now passed. Try his much older Throbbing Pouch on Rising High for a more IDMmy touch or '98's Tally Ho! album for some non-serious good time fun or how about his most recent outing collab'ing with BJ Cole on "Stop the Panic". As Luke Vibert he did the excellent Big Soup for Mo'Wax in '97. They're all different and all good in their own way. Of all his output, D&B for Papa is the one I'm most bored by - just too much of the same thing. In isolation the tracks are brilliant, but over 2 CD's they drill holes in my head. Also worth finding are his remixes - some stunning stuff. Sorry - I'm multi-tasking and my brain's not quite in gear. If any of the above doesn't make sense, apoligies all round. Just noticed on http://brainwashed.com/releases/ Warp is going to release subj on CDEP. Great! Another gem in collection. btw. I highly anticipate two new long plays from Metamatics and 2CD set Snow Robots by Suction (they decided to make 2CD which I salute) and new Arovane is highly expected as well. 8) Alien np. let's just hope this doesn't go the way of those purported "vinyl represses".. heh heh heh this is something i actually want, since most of the mp3's are pretty low quality and chop the first song in half. cheers, /derek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yeah the new Dot cd/lp is a lot more funky than the past metamatics material, almost like a cross between Lee Norris' Norken alias and metamatics... all in all a very nice album... I'm really looking forward to this new album as well. I really enjoy the Metamatics 12" on Dot that precedes the album so i'm sure the album will be just a good. Here are the details on the Metamatics 12" on Dot... . Metamatics: Man-Q-Neons 12" (Dot) Tracks: - Man-Q-Neons - Grades of Shade On the topic of Metamatics, does anybody know what the status is of the two Metamatics/Noe Ouija-related labels Small Medium and Prubic Smalls? I'm really eager to get the Nacht Plank & Hem release on Small Medium judging from the strength of the Nacht Plank cd on Microwave. Also eager for the Geiom releases on Prubic Smalls and Meir. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
