.It was "Move The Crowd." Yes, Paid in Full is a classic! But i think I liked .coldcut's instrumental version of the track a little better - I think they .dubbed it "not paid enough." .Ofra Haza on Eric B and Rakim "Paid In Full" .Remixed by Coldcut - I have the original record .but am 2 lazy to go look for the title. its probably not true as the format has existed for probably hundreds of years in one form or another, but I swear I once heard Coldcut themselves claim that their mix of Paid In Full was the first remix ever, or something similar....ne1 no the story? x --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

First remix 'ever' would be a lofty claim. However their mix of 'Paid In Full' is widely regarded as one of the earliest remixes (in the sense of remix as we know it today...not to be confused with remix in the sense of 'Version' which exsisted in dub/reggae for years before), and it is also considered to have been instrumental in crossing over hip-hop to a wider audience (along with many other moments in the history of hip-hop). Ego Trip 'Book Of Rap Lists' checks it as being one of the top hip-hop remixes ever, so we got some back up there. ...and yes there was an instrumental version called 'Not Paid Enough' Jeff on 10/18/00 1:20 PM, Wightman, Scott W at swwigh@essex.ac.uk wrote:
