Welcome to the second edition of a regular digest of news, tour dates and forthcoming releases direct from Warp. Warp US ------- Warp is pleased to announce the founding of our US division. Distributed exclusively by Caroline Distribution (with the exception of existing Red Snapper, Broadcast and Aphex Twin licenses), all forthcoming and future Warp releases in the States will be handled by our US operation. Street dates for the first wave of Warp US releases are listed below 31 October 00 Plaid _Trainer_ Two Lone Swordsmen _Tiny Reminders_ 28 November 00 Jamie Lidell _Muddlin' Gear_ Boards Of Canada _In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country_ Live News --------- The Incredible Warp Lighthouse Party: Travel Information. The Incredible Warp Lighthouse Party is this weekend at The Chainstore, Trinity Buoy Wharf in London's docklands. A map of the area can be found at: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=539326&Y=180749&A=Y&Z=1 If you're travelling by Rail or Tube, the nearest stations are either Canning Town (which services the Jubilee Line, the Docklands Light Railway or the North London Line) or East India station, one stop earlier on the Docklands Light Railway. For more information visit the following sites: Tube: http://www.transportforlondon.gov.uk/tube/index.shtml North London Line: http://www.railtrack.co.uk Docklands Light Railway: http://www.dlr.co.uk/ For those travelling by bus, http://www.busmap.co.uk has a complete route map of all Greater London Bus services. Due to the lack of public transport services in the early hours of the morning, anyone wanting to leave before the party's close at 6.00am can make use of a free coach service running from The Chainstore to Trafalgar Square every 30 mins from 3.30am to 5.30am. Please note that audio and video recording equipment will not be allowed into the venue. Album News ---------- Red Snapper's fourth album _Our Aim Is To Satisfy Red Snapper_ is out now. Co-produced by Hugo Nicholson, the album captures the dynamism of the band's acclaimed live act and features long-time collaborator MC Det and a new vocalist, American émigré and ex-wrestler Karime Kendra. The band's official site http://www.redsnapperonline.net is up and running and a special microsite featuring exclusive radio mixes from all three members of the band can be found at http://www.warprecords.com/warp/ography/lp/WARP78 _Blue Jam_, a specially prepared edition of Chris Morris' jarring radio series has finally been green-lighted for release on 23 October. Available for the first time on CD and Cassette, _Blue Jam_'s "ambient stupid" compiles sketches from all three series of the innovative and controversial BBC Radio 1 series broadcast between 1997 and 1999. Chris Morris is the man primarily responsible for the BBC TV series _The Day Today_ and the infamous Channel 4 spoof current affairs series _Brass Eye_. Interestingly the MVC chain of music & video stores in the UK have "declined to stock the album" stating that it does not "fit their image as family stores". This surprised us somewhat as several of the sketches are all about families. Two Lone Swordsmen's new album _Tiny Reminders_ is out now. To listen to audio clips go to http://www.warprecords.com/warp/ography/lp/WARP77 . Meanwhile the duelling duo of Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood are taking their highly successful _Turntables & Machines_ tour beyond British shores for select dates in Europe and Japan. The full list can be found at live news section of our news pages (www.warprecords.com/warp/news/contents.html#tourdates). TLS' official site, The Rotter's Golf Club is now open for business. Visit them at http://www.rottersgolfclub.co.uk Jamie Lidell's digitally damaged debut _Muddlin' Gear_ is in shops now. For something truly muddlin' check the album microsite at www.warprecords.com/warp/ography/lp/WARP75 The European release of Savath & Savalas' _Folk Songs For Trains Trees & Honey_ is out on Warp on 20 November. Three years since their last album _TNT_, Warp will be releasing _Standards_, the fourth album by Chicago underground crew Tortoise in Europe in early 2001. More details to follow. Single news ----------- Boards Of Canada's new EP _In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country_ , recorded at Hexagon Sun in Scotland's Pentland Hills, is released on 13 November. BOC's long awaited second album is scheduled for an early 2001 release. Prefuse73's debut single _Estrocaro_ is released on 23 October. The work of Atlanta based programming genius Scott Herren, the EP reflects the southern states producer's desire to rebuild Hip Hop from the roots. A full length album featuring a stellar cast of guests including Anticon's Dose One, MF Doom, Anti-Pop Consortium's Beans and The Sea And Cake vocalist Sam Prekop is set for Spring 2001. Autechre release their second Peel session on 20 November. If you caught the original broadcast on 9th September 1999, you might remember that the track titles mysteriously did not accompany the audio masters to Peel's studio, so John generated his own titles on air... 01 Gelk 02 Blifil 03 Gaekwad 04 19 Headaches Broadcast's new single _Extended Play Two_ is out now. It continues the band's tradition of composing exceptional B-sides, featuring 5 brand new tracks including a live-in-studio-recording of stage favourite _Unchanging Window/Chord Simple_ and the much-sought after instrumental _Drums On Fire_. The band are undertaking a short UK tour before they embark on their first tour of the US. http://www.warprecords.com/warp/news/contents.html#tourdates has a full list of confirmed dates. John Callaghan, onetime postman and nude artist's model, follows his 1998 7" release _I'm Not Comfortable Inside My Mind_ with a new 6 track 10" EP _You've Got Your Memories, I've Got My Dreams_, out on 23 October. Other News ---------- The Royal Academy's _Apocalypse: Beauty and horror in contemporary art_ exhibition, featuring Chris Cunningham's 12 minute hardcore video installation _flex_ is now underway and runs until 15 December. Hotmail/Mailserver Trouble -------------------------- Apologies to the Hotmail users who were plagued with multiple confirmation requests from our mail server after our last mailout. It would appear that Hotmail repeatedly bounced the small flash movie attachment on the original mail, however it let through the confirmation requests from our mailserver, which attempt to find out if the email address is valid before it is unsubscribed. The upshot of this fiasco was that nearly all our Hotmail users were automatically unsubscribed by our mailserver after being bombarded with automatic emails. Ouch. Obviously the vast majority of those users did not wish to be unsubscribed and as a result we have rebuilt the list from original requests. Unfortunately this means that the tiny number of people who did genuinely wish to unsubscribe have been resubscribed. We can only apologise to these people and mumble something about the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few. But we won't be rushing to mail out any attachments again. You can now find the flash flyer by clicking on the Boards Of Canada EP cover on our news page: http://www.warprecords.com/warp/news Forthcoming Releases Albums WARP79 Chris Morris: Blue Jam [CD & MC] WARP80 Savath & Savalas: Folk Songs For Trains Trees & Honey [CD & LP] WARP81 Tortoise: Standards [TBC] Singles WAP134 Prefuse 73: Estrocaro [12" only] WAP137 John Callaghan: You've Got Your Memories, I've Got My Dreams [10" only] WAP139 Richard Devine: Lip Switch [mini-album - CD & LP] WAP142 Red Snapper: Some Kind of Kink [12" & CD] WAP144 Boards Of Canada: In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country WAP150 Autechre: Peel Session 2 [12" & CD] Out Now WARP75 Jamie Lidell: Muddlin' Gear [CD & 2LP] WARP77 Two Lone Swordsmen: Tiny Reminders [CD & 3LP] WARP78 Red Snapper: Our Aim Is To Satisfy Red Snapper [CD & 2LP] WAP135 Jimi Tenor: Spell [12" & CD] WAP140 Mira Calix: Peel Session [12" & CD] WAP141 Broadcast: Extended Play Two [12" & CD] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

slacker..!! heh.. their security plainly didn't work. someone will have recorded it.. i reckon (even tho i think boots are pointless and shit).. we had 2 MD recorders which we got in, but they were just MDs which were in pockets and we didn't aim to record the show.. cuz booting is crap as i said!! err.. but we did take some pics which is cool.. on our cameras which we weren't allowed to take in. it just shows.... warp records and their fascist security didn't actually do any good doing all their stupid bag checks. sorry.. but i will post my full report of the warp shitehouse party shortly.. but no doubt 100000 other people will. and the new boards EP is way better than the boards live experience. yawn. tomx --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
