ok, i'm probably biased - but i like both. and i've seen both - altho i hafta admit i havent seen ritchie hawtin since one of the outdoor summer festies a few years back and it was 5am when he came on twiddling the knobs. i cant say if he's added any visual enhancements to his show - but if yr up for a night of solid technological sounds - go see ritchie. if you want to see state of the art visual sound sampling with jaw dropping visual and audio collages which has influenced everyone from chem bros to leftfield, go to a coldcut show - its v.f.m. in my humble opinion, and if you want a teaser, check the schedule below.

The Plus8 tour is going to be a full on dance event. Coldcut is going to be, well, Coldcut. Richie will continue to tour the US, you might not catch Coldcut again for a long-ass time. I think that the Hawtin event will be very worth seeing too. Coldcut will be at Quest, which shuts down at 2. Why not see Coldcut and cut crosstown to see Richie?
