In our never ending quest for DSP F*ckery comes the tool Crusher-X for
Windows PCs. This is a real time granular synth thingy that has loads
and loads of sliders of obscure import, which can make anything from
delicate ambiences to full on scary noise assaults.
An example of it's fiendishness is

which is seeded with some random live guitar and a drum loop. Not
what I'd call pleasant music but it gives you some idea of what it can
do. Well worth the $39 registration which BTW I paid.
