If you want to revert to your old ways check out Photek's new crack at house. On the other hand if you want to keep on the house tip check out Michael Mayer's Neuhouse. An excellent piece of Cologne house. - c At 12:06 AM 09/29/2000 -0700, Hess Hodge wrote:

It's a pretty fine release. Most of the tracks are short, but in a good way (i.e. they aren't underdeveloped, but they don't outstay their welcome). A bit of old school IDM flavour to much of it. It's worth a listen. Yep, there's about 22 tracks -- lots of short little nuggets of sound. Like the other poster said, the tracks simply do their job and move on in the shortest time possible. No hanging around repeating loops or sections of the music just for the sake of it. Each track is just the right length. Compare this to Downie's solo Black Dog album, "Music for Adverts & Short Films", which contains similar bite-sized chunks of tunes, but seems to drag on a bit and gets quite boring in places. If you like Amber-period Autechre, Plaid, that sort of thing, then you should get a kick out of CiM. Try and track down the 8-track "Service Pack" EP too -- similar sort of stuff to be found on there. -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
