hey all, the new u2 album hasn't been released yet but i've been able to get my hands on it. seems like everybody these days is trying to get a hand on the up-and-coming e-pop genre -- i.e. radiohead, madonna, and now U2 with their album All That You Can't Leave Behind. it's not them at all... there's enya and techno beats in there, a lot of it doesn't sound like u2 at all. but check it out. cuz U2, madonna and radiohead are such "big" names we may see a big swarm of electro-fans in the near future jon _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Haven't you heard what U2's been doing for the last decade or so ? In all honesty I think they adopted electronic influences before Radiohead even had any records out and they certainly beat Madonna to the punch. Actually I find it interesting that so many people aren't afraid to admit they like Radiohead, but U2, who Radiohead are admittedly very influenced by, are like the most uncool band to like. Actually from the tracks I've heard from the new one it's sort of a return to their older guitar based sound and not nearly as electronic as their last 3 or 4 releases. And the tracks I heard were really sort of generic, banal pop. Disappointing.
