I just picked up the Bjork mit Funkstorung cd over the weekend on Fat Cat. Did anybody else catch that the "In Love with Funkstorung" mix is in mono while the "Secondotted" mix is in full beautiful stereo? Wonder why they decided to do it that way.....

In the case of Funkst?rung, I know they've done a number of remixes for tracks they didn't like. Despite their predelicition for hip-hop (or perhaps because of it) they didn't have much affection for either the Wu-Tang or East Flatbush Project tracks that they were given to work on. However, they DID mention liking the opportunity to work on the Bj?rk track, and mentioned with some pride in an interview that she "completely flipped out" when she heard it. Hell, how could you not enjoy having THAT voice to play with (although I'll hold to saying that PJ Harvey blew her ass out of the water on the Satisfaction duet)? Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure Bj?rk herself enjoys having that voice to play with. Cheers, M. ----------- Made with affection by distrustful lovers. No, it's Alison Goldfrapp. She also sang on Tricky's "Pumpkin" (on _Maxinquaye_), Orbital's "Sad But True", "Are We Here?" (_Snivilization_), "Dwr Budr" (_In Sides_) and "Nothing Left" (_Middle of Nowhere_), Add N to X's "Revenge of the Black Regent", etc. etc., and has just released a very good record (as Goldfrapp) titled "Felt Mountain" on Mute. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
