Sorry for the very late post about this, I haven't touched my computer for
about a month, and while scanning through this little poll I had to reply:

..........."Flutter" (track 3) from the anti EP is not only AE's best
release, it is the best song to be produced from any band, of any genre of
music, from any country on this entire miserable planet in the decade of the
90's. The only explanation of it's absence from this poll must be a lack of
ownership in relation to the other releases mentioned. I know you folks
were talking about whole CD's/LP's/EP's, but I prefer to rate individual
tracks. "Flutter" is a haunting masterpiece.
You see it goes like this for the best of the last three decades:
Best of the 70's: "P.T.O." by Klaus Shulze from the Body Love soundtrack
(1977) This is the best song ever written, of any kind. Emotion pours from
this piece of music to such an extent that there were times that I had
considered the possibility that it might be alive. I know a lot of you
tribute kraftwerk as the major influence of IDM, but if was Klaus Shulze
that was the true pioneer. I'm still convinced that he's an alien. Check
it out.
Best of the 80's: "The Chauffeur" From Duran Duran's Rio CD 1982. A lot
of people don't know about this track because of lack of air play. I think
that if you'll forget that it is Duran Duran and listen with an open mind -
not only to the music but the lyrics too, you will appreciate why I think
this is the best of the 80's. I always play this one around Halloween.
Best of the 90's: "Flutter" AE / Anit EP. Good God I love this tune.
Sorry for the rant, I haven't been online in a while.
----Chris.
