PLURAMON / KID606 / DATACH'I NATIONAL TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT The current state of electronic music has been hit upside the head by a new wave of artists out to do more than just shake your ass on the dance floor. This is dance music, this is head music... music for club kids who don't like to go to clubs. A laptop revolution that has blemished electronic music forever more and spawned a dedicated scene of the most radical sorts. This tour brings together two of America's most insanely captivating electronic musicians and introduces a RARE performance for the first time ever in N. America, live with drummer and guitar, one of Germany's leading innovators of the late 20th century. With Pluramon, aka Marcus Schmickler, one might call his music rock, but with an approach to spacial effect and aural satisfaction. With guitar, a live drummer and laptop he tweaks them together with spectacular results. As Pluramon, he's recruited such esteemed musicians as Jaki Liebezeit (of Can) and Jan St.Werner (of Mouse On Mars & Microstoria) to enlist their take on beats and pieces, this N. American debut promises to be like no other. Touring in support of his latest remix record, "Bit Sand Riders" on Mille Plateaux that features reworking by some of the most genre defying musicians currently that include Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), Mogwai, High Llamas, snd, Atom Heart, and Sensorama. kid 606...is he the the devil, just insane or a mad genius? Making tons of noise with every major press junkie from around the world (he's been written about in Spin, Village Voice, the Wire, NME, Melody Maker, Seattle Weekly, CMJ, etc.). The kid's been kicking up dirt recently remixing NWA's "Straight Out Of Compton" and blowing eardrums with his latest release "Down With The Scene" on Ipecac not to mention a harmonious October 31 release entitled "p.s. I love you" on Mille Plateaux. His M.O.: Laptop pyrotechnics via beat dispatching with a nonsensical view on what can and cannot be broken down. In other words, this kid is punk rock techno. Envision Alec Empire, and Merzbow being taught music by Steve Reich and Brian Eno. Datach'i has had a stunning presence on the electronic scene...with a wit only matched by artists like Aphex Twin, kid 606, & Bogdan Raczynski. Beats, beats, and more beats until your musical senses are dulled to pulp, and probably the most dancy-est of the bunch, but not quite. His latest record, "wearealwayswellthankyou" on Caipirinha, is future music gone A.D.D. with a sweet charm you cannot resist. It's playful, maniacal, and downright sophisticated. Almost unlike anything you've ever heard. Come see what all the noise, I mean fuss, is all about. We think you'll like what you hear. - jon berry, force inc. n. america THU 9/28 LOS ANGELES, CA KNITTING FACTORY - 7021 Hollywood Blvd. LA 323-463-0204 TICKETS: $10 advance / $12 door DOORS: 9PM 9:00PM - Datach'i, 10:00PM - kid606, 11:00PM - Pluramon FRI 9/29 SAN FRANCISCO, CA BOTTOM OF THE HILL - 1233 17th Street, SF 510-601-0431 TICKETS: $10 Times to be announced, also performing DAT POLITICS from France SAT 9/30 SEATTLE, WA CROCODILE CAFE - 2200 2nd Ave TICKETS: $8 10:00PM - Datach'i, 11:00PM - kid606, 12:00AM - Pluramon MON 10/2 NEW YORK, NY OTHER MUSIC Pluramon instore FREE! 8PM TUES 10/3 NEW YORK, NY KNITTING FACTORY - 74 Leonard St. 212-219-3006 TICKETS: $10 advance / $12 day of show 10:00PM - Datach'i, 11:00PM - kid606, 12:00AM - Pluramon THU 10/4 DETROIT, MI MOTOR LOUNGE TICKETS: $8 advance / $10 day of show 10:00PM - Datach'i, 11:00PM - kid606, 12:00AM - Pluramon FRI 10/6 CLEVELAND, OH SPEAK IN TONGUES call Bent Crayon for info: 216-221-9200 SAT 10/7 CHICAGO, IL EMPTY BOTTLE, 1035 N. Definitely A.

Can someone tell me why the press is so fucking enamored with this guy ? I just don't understand. The one that tops it all for me is the latest issue of Merge, an otherwise great mag, where they printed a 2 page feature in which the writer basically talks about how he failed to get an interview with the Kid and then of course the non-article is accompanied by a huge page size pic of 606. And when they can't get 606 to talk to them they make (the more attention deserving) Lesser talk about 606's music. Sorry, don't mean to start another 606 related thread, I'm just venting. I guess his 15 minutes will be over soon. Can't wait for Mr. Laner's requisite, witty retort. Hm. I'd hardly call 8 shows in 6 states a `National Tour'. Come down anywhere below the Mason Dixon line and then *maybe* you can make that claim. Just because a band plays in New York, California and some of the bigger midwestern cities does not qualify it as being a `U.S. Tour', a `North American Tour', and most certainly NOT a `National Tour'. This is my complaint/plea for you electronic guys/gals to come down to Florida. There's plenty of us down here who'd love to have you. .`-). christopher miller o o.' evil@fdt.net == ' --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
