oh, i sincerely hope they make more tracks in the vein of Zeiss Contarex.. mmmmmm highly melodic oddnoise and hiphop. actually their stuff will likely be derivative of the peel session, since the peel session *did* sound like a progression from ep7. mmmm ----------- "Extremism is no vice when God's on your side" -Opus the Penguin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

In regards to Zeiss Contarex... That one had me listening to it for a while. At first I thought it went nowhere, but then I noticed all of the textured sounds in the background and was thoroughly engrossed. I can only listen to it at ear splitting levels now... I think now that all of their pad sounds are processed they become more haunting and peculiar. anyone agree? The high pad melody in netlon sentinel just sounds better than say their tri repetae synths... Just my two cents.... Yes, if the last two tracks on ep7 are indicative of what's to come, I think I will bust my face into a cold metallic surface with joy. I know that ep7 is drooled over, but for me, it's just simply the best, most interesting, and more importantly organic sounding electronic music cd I've heard. Organic in the sense that everything sounds completely processed or originated from some form of synthesis, yet completely full of the elements that make things real, organic, textured and varied... anyhow, all I can say is that if AE's new lp is an advancement from ep7, mmmmmmmmm... btw, I got an AE remix from that website that had the Coachella set in 320kbps. What is that? My guess is something along the lines of the Neu remixes and the David Sylvian collaboration. IMO the track closest in sound to the 8/99 Peel Session tracks (which are the most recent Ae tracks I've heard) is "Maphive 6.1" (track 8) off "EP7". Andrei

well, the Peel Session that's available for purchase is circa tri-repetae, and is somewhat on the repetitive side (although nice if you like tri repetae ++). the peel session that's being discussed in this thread is the mp3 bootleg of a peel session from approximately a year ago, which is a step beyond ep7 as far as technological.. uhh.. weirdness :) unfortunately it's not retailed yet, although this might change as it's definitely a good show and it looks like warp's going to release another batch of peel sessions soon, starting with mira calix. so i'm crossing my fingers. apparently the *real* version of the first peel session 2 track is about twice as long as the mp3 version one, with much more bulk happening before the mp3 starting point. i'm interested to hear it, although it's really the end of the first track that i like the most... so yeah. to sum up. peel session 1 - out in stores, sounds tri repetaeish peel session 2 - only bootleg, and the current discussion point of this thread. there should be plenty of autechre people out here in idm land, hopefully one of them will hook you up :) cheers, /derek ----------- "Extremism is no vice when God's on your side" -Opus the Penguin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Except, of course, that the "David Sylvian meets Autechre" track wasn't done by Autechre, but by some guy who just happened to play an Autechre and a David Sylvian record side by side, IIRC... -- Kurt Pruenner - Haendelstrasse 17 - 4020 Linz - Austria http://www.mp3.com/Leak - http://www.ssw.uni-linz.ac.at np: Disjecta - Gammi (Clean Pit & Lid) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Haha! I always wondered why they sounded similar, but could never be bothered to whip out the Neu vinyl to check. Still, you've got to admit the guy did a pretty cool job. Still, I once played Vladislav Delay and Pole MP3s simultaneously without actually realising it. "Wow, this is cool!" I thought, thinking I just had a Pole track playing. The next day, I spent ages going through my Pole CDs and vinyl, trying to find the track I heard the previous day, before suddenly realising what I'd done! -- Mark Stevens http://www.headspin.clara.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Just my little bit of looking into the future...check out some of Freeform's albums...I think this is a good look into what the future holds... Complicated, yet subtle and deep. Electronic, yet organic and emotional. Eclectic, yet laid-back and sweet. Serious, yet humorous and stylish. Imho this is what music should bring...an open source from which your own imagination gets a spark. It makes you think, it influences your behaviour and your mood...not many artists have this in their music, which doesn't make them bad musicians, but it's that little bit extra that takes it to a new level... Just something to think about really, have fun :) Teccie http://www.fredscape.com http://www.mp3.com/ceTeR
