yeah, I'm a bit nervous about this, too... I think back to Bola, most recently. Soup was so brilliant that anything after that was bound to be disappointing. MBV "Loveless", as well. K. Shields can't win. He gets flack for not releasing anything, but you've gotta think that if he ever does release anything as MBV, it'll be crap because we've been waiting so long. Of course, his work with E.A.R. is still good for the soul... But, then again (going back to BoC), this is what separates the men from the boys, right? If it's good enough to grow on you, then it's better than algae. er, well, something like that. Still, I'm trying to keep an open mind... ---brian ------------------------ Brian W. well, i think the "problem" wif boc is that most people who really like them now thought their first releases were pretty standard. and then went back to them after being like "hmm i now have this song in my head and i'm not sure where it's from".. at least that's what happened to me :) but really, by saying that it grows on you is likely one of the biggest compliments you can give to boc, cos i always get the impression that it's what they're shooting for. anywho, the main melody on kid for today, from what i've heard from the short sample and from the remix (which i don't like all too much, but c'est la vie), should be dreamy :) cheers, /derek ----------- "Extremism is no vice when God's on your side" -Opus the Penguin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
