OK, time to throw in my two cents on the subject of "live" performance. While most of us would love to be dazzeled by amazing on-the-spot performances, it doesnt allways happen. Why? Because the artist is in control. Sometimes they want to be spontaneous when performing. Sometimes they are to lazy to work out methods that would allow that. Sometimes, they percieve it as technically infeasable. Sometimes they do it, sometimes they dont. When you pay to see an artist perform, hopefully you are getting a glimpse at what their music means to them and what they want it to mean to you. Thats why you pay. If all things go well (P.A., lighting, ect.), you get to see an artist on his or her own terms. To me thats often worth the price of admisson. Maybe you'll see the music in a whole new light. Maybe not. Its hard to make a connection with an artist without any contact. cheers, sam --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
