There've been two bad email habits that seem to have gotten especially frequent on this list lately, and it's getting really annoying. 1) One-line replies. No-one needs to see you quote a message (or portion thereof) with a reply that says nothing but "Yes, I agree!" or "Right on!" or "Amen, brother!". If you REALLY feel the need to do this, at least have the courtesy to send your worthless commentary to the person off-list. Otherwise, just shut the hell up, OK? 2) Quoting an entire message and putting your reply text at the top. More and more frequently, people are doing this, to the point where the quoted messages are often five or six deep. Not only does this make it difficult to put your reply into context, but it's REALLY annoying to those of us who are subscribed to the list in digest mode. PLEASE make an attempt to just quote the bits that you're replying to, and trim headers and sig files and such. I realize, of course, that these complaints are probably useless. The days when Internet users actually attempted to stick to a rough set of rules of courtesy are long behind us, and most of the people guilty of these things are too rude or stupid to give a shit about other people's concerns. But I felt the need to say something, however futile it may be.
