hmmm, as i've near-lurked for the past month or so on this list I get the feeling i'm not the only person here who listens to a lot of grindcore/death metal/power violence as well as IDM / out-there electronics... the mention of discordance axis in the Locust thread makes this clear... anyhow, i'm in a "post-human" grindcore band that is all electronics / drum machine / synths, no guitars... we're called Dataclast... http://www.overwhelmed.org/dataclast our older material is much more straightforward grindcore but our most recent (and as yet unreleased) stuff incorporates more and more IDM influences, with glitches, some breakbeats, timestreched bits, rapid shifts in tempo, etc. when we get a song online that really exemplfies this very intentional grindcore/IDM crossover, i'll post a link... besides the Locust, does anyone here know of any other groups doing anything similar to this?
