So does anyone have a turntable on their desk @ work? My old journalism teacher did, but he also was radio station tech emeritus as well, so it was okay. -Gil --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I've been meaning to bring one in, but I need to pick up a phono preamp first. The guy who sits next to me (a techno DJ) has one and I get jealous every time I see him put on a record. :) -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@curiousnetworks.com http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i do. well, not actually ON my desk, but directly opposite it. whenever clients come into the office that's the first thing they remark on ... "I didn't know they even made records anymore!!" it's an ancient cabinet-console phonograph/radio combo that one of the other programmers picked up at a junk store down the street. it's got little doors on the front and the turntable slides out on a little rack. it also features the automatic "stack-o-wax" device so i can pile my 12"'s on top and don't have to get up until the A-sides are all played and then i just flip the stack over again, listen to the B-sides. i swear it's my favorite perk. who needs health insurance and a 401-k when i can drop mad beats all day long? jjosh -- String Theory : Digital Music for Humans http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/index.cgi On Tue, 12 Sep 2000, Catfish Gil wrote:
