first of all, thanks to everyone for introducing me to fizzarum. from what i've heard at mp3.com they are still a bit rough around the edges, but once they get a few lps under their belts i think they will be up there with Ae and all that. i assume right now there isn't any material from them except the 7" ursa majoris single? oh yeah, and is there any other vladislav delay (perhaps under different names) that sounds like "huone" from multila? it's the centerpiece of the album, an upbeat dancey 4/4 track but done in his trademarked style, and so gorgeous at around 30 min long...i'd really like to hear more of his experimentation in this conventionally rhythmic style (not that a lot of entain isn't rhythmic, but well you know what i mean if you've heard the music). choralone5 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hi All, After a long delay I decided to continue to provide you with small IMHOs on new (for me) music coming into my mailbox. Pole "1" (Matador) Great beginning of the fabulous serie. More melodic and colorful than #2 and less minimalistic. For those who have not heard him - do so, you will not regret it. His music has certain magic trancy feel built upon gorgeous melodies based on the environment field of clicks and blips. 8/10 _____________________________ V/A "Lily of the Valley" (Schematic) Finally I was able to get my hands and ears to the follow up to critically acclaimed "Ishemic Folks". Must admit all those who told that this album is more acceptable and melodic were correct. Beautiful long track by Richard Devine, lots of Phoenecia tracks under different names and gorgeous Delarosa & Asora mini journeys into idm wonderland. Excellent. 8.5/10 ___________________ V/A "Kid 606 & friends" Noise idm. Great for noise fans, idm fans be cautious. Execellent mix of experiments on kid606 materials from such profies of electronic manipulation as Matmos, Solvent, Marumari, Hrvatski, Lexaunculpt, Cex, Jake Mandell and others. 6/10 _________________________________ Mouse on Mars - Diskdusk EP (Too Pure) 8) Any MoM fans must buy. Very short - 15 mins. Addition to Niun Niggung LP. Four tracks - three exclusive. 8/10 _____________ Arovane - Tides Mellow acoustic electronic relaxation. Deeply evolving melodies combined into excellent tender electronic album. Differs from "Atol Scrap" though has similar Arovane feel. 8/10 ________________ Biosphere - Cirque Another step for Geir and cause for happiness among his fans. Anyone following his evolution should buy this one. Kinda short (40 mins) but very hearty and soulful idm ambient from Norway (be sure you have your warm clothes on when you listen...) 8/10 __________________________________ Amon Tobin "Supermodified" (Ninja Tune) Fans - Must buy. Another step from old style following the Permutation scketches. Great mix of dark hip-hop, idm and brand Ninja style. 9/10 _____________________________________ Funkstorung "Post Art" (Chocolate Industries) The CD reissue of previously vinyl only EP. F-ung fans unite to buy it! Great! Excellent! Too short.... Ae offsprings at their best. 9.5/10 _____________________________________ Coil "Music to Play in the Dark Room... part II" Magically evolving ambient idm with impossible to forget or compare atmosphere. Just like drowning in your fantasies or dreams. Great for late night drug-overdose listening... 8) 9/10 That's it for now. There are so more but I'll follow them up later. LUSINE Icl - "A Pseudo Steady State" Fantastic, beautiful, engaging! Great original idm album featuring drum&bass and ambient influences varying from track to track. 8.5/10 METAMATICS - "Spooktinselshoal" modern idm in its best... 8) 9.5/10 Birmingham Frequencies (Bioshere & HIA) Collaboration of ambient idm master Geir Jensen and Higher Intellegence Agency frontman Bobby Bird resulting in absolutely calm and peaceful mix of ambient and idm. Very soothing and melodic. 7.5/10 Pole - 3 Continuation of great series. Glitchy click-cut minimal idm abmbience developped up to new heights of illusionary dreamworld. 8.5/10 Animals on Wheels - Nuvol i Cadira Andy Coleman is genius! I loved Designes and Mistakes but the new one opens new horizons in Ninjasound experimentation. Every track is different. It got more melodic and less drum&bassy yet more deep and involving. Great CD for idmers and other music appreciators. One of the best albums of the year! 9.5/10 Alien np. 9 Lazy 9 - Electric Lazyland --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
