(yeah I have some digest lag, sorry about that)
I'm also a little confused I didn't see more about it, but
I guess its much more abstract/experimental than the 'dated'
comp. Maybe people didn't get into as much. I love them
both, personally... between those 2 and the mp3's they have
posted on the web site this is one of my favorite labels right
now.
The 'heirloom' comp is abstract enough that I'm having a hard time
thinking of how to describe it... the tracks range from ambient
techno (antartika, ocone), to downtempo/triphop (headshell) to
droney ambient and sound collage (don rainwater, mark hadley)
Its quite a varied set of artists and sounds, although strangely
enough it holds together as an album. Two thumbs up!
BTW the whole album is available at the website with downloadable
(not streamed!! yay!) realaudio. so your best bet is to go listen
for yourself, rather than trust my opinion...
Regards,
Aronne
