hey will -
you didn't see'em in los angeles by any chance? claas
spun friday at gabah, thought that might be the gig
you referred to. i was there as well, and it was
indeed dope. as far as sound of the city goes, i
bought this on wax a while back. haven't heard the
cd, but i was somewhat disappointed in that the vinyl
was only 8 tracks or so max, cost like $26 mailordered
from satellite, and ended up being a single piece of
wax with four tracks or so on each side. aside from
that, i really didn't think they licensed great tracks
for it. i think there was one extended spirit remix i
was really into, but i already had that on a 2x12" off
dialog records anyway. ended up selling or giving it
away, i can't remember.
so my advice - pass on it, look for the jazzanova
original 12"s and remixes instead. apparently there's
a comp. coming out eventually that's s'posed to
showcase nearly all their remixes (think along the
lines of k&d sessions), or at least that's what i've
heard. have no idea how far down the line that one
is, but if you can wait that might be the best buy for
your money. my 0.02 - brock

I just saw JAZZANOVA spin over the weekend. I was
really into their set! They played some awesome tunes!
I was curious about a mix cd they did a while back
called V/A - Sound Of The City: Berlin [Universal
Jazz]. Does anyone have any comments or tracklisting
for this comp? Is this their only mix? Thanks in
advance
