nooooooOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOo! don't you know in two hours this is going to turn out a stuttering discography of Aphex? ... that aside, my vote's for the Come to Daddy EP and Richard D. James album equally! I can't really grade his stuff that easily though, seeing as I keep "discovering" stuff of his I've known for a while before. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I learned more about Autechre from the "Gay" and "Kid 606 sux azzzzz" threads than these. While I have obviously nothing against discussion of Aphex Twin or Autechre (and neither should anyone else on this list), I do have a problem with an elfin army of two line posts that do nothing but namedrop a band's release, and don't give any explanation why one feels this is the band's best work or worst work or whatever. I don't have problems with polls either, but the tallying should be done underneath the radar. ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> KUCI 88.9 fM in Irvine, CA -- Orange County ======================================================================= On Wed, 30 Aug 2000 Abstractmode@aol.com wrote:

I Care Because You do. That was my big "eye-opener" for electronic music beyond what I had already been exposed to. If I had to say a fave song, I'd choose the third song off the first disc of "Selected Ambience Vol.2" (the domestic version). I would give the song name, but I don't want to go through that mind-boggling process of figuring which song goes to which shape and what-ever else. It's just such a beautiful song, like so many Aphex songs. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

ok first off i only have the come to daddy ep, SAW II, and windowlicker so my experience is limited. come to daddy is bad-ass, not a bad song (except maybe "funny little man") and SAW II is so great in so many ways. beautiful and scary and boring and energetic. one of the best of all time i think. definately the best aphex. :jason (ecux www.zenapolae.com) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

...i care because you do - it started the process of graduating from listening to everything labled as "electronica" at the local national record mart to not even bothering to go into the store because they're not going to have one single cd i want and will not have heard of any of them either. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
