Probably best take replies off list on this... fairly specialist problem. Is there a way of plugging a non amplified turntable into the aux in of a stereo? One thing that had crossed my mind was using a cheap DJ mixer, and plugging the headphone out to the aux in. Would it also be possible to run headphone out from the computer to the input of the mixer? Why are there so many types of audio cable? Grrr... (sorry that all most of my posts are technological pleas for help... here's some) IDM content: Just bought, rather late, the Focus sampler, with Lackluster, CiM et. al. and although you can tell that they all own both Incunabula and Music has the right, it's a quite lovely selection of tracks. Some of the beats are quite innovative (in that they use the 'shuffle' button on the drum machine), and the melodies are, of course, superb: all the usual adjectives apply. Also fresh off the racks is Gebr. Teichmann's Aus Der Ferne (Kompact). This is taking a while to get into: it focuses on how the sounds are arranged rhythmically and structural, rather than meditating on the qualities of the sound itself (a la Chain Reaction, which I'm more used to). It is very classy though, with a lovely crisp acidic sound, and some very cool, almost mind alteringly complex patterns. Well worth the effort. Thanks, and sorry for my appaling reviewing style d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
