i saw a hip hop video on yo! mtv raps (no kidding, but a large dose of irony) the other week along those lines. all about what real hip hop is, and how you can buy it in tins. video was in the style of commerical for tv only product. like jac shade: these people are eating a baked dinner, these people are being baked! dont do it! yeah, anyway, made me laugh. can't remember who it was though... q-tip? tribe called quest? 3 foot high and rising people (their name has escaped my head!!!) um yeah. hip hop = great! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

my two bits: if you want to discover hip hop with an idm flava, you should check out the gamma mp3 available for download on the front page of the http://www.ninjatune.net site -- while yr at it, check out mike ladd and the infesticons which you'll find as part of the big dada label - after seeing mike ladd rock the joint with mad abstrakt poetry, i wouldnt even know if it was hip hop in the true sense of the word. also, mos def is one of the most engaging hip hop artists i've seen come outta the scene in the last five years. and at least these guys talk more than the usual shit. oh yeah, http://www.quannum.com - shadows collective is sayin something to me as well. i'm afraid i dont have much patience these days for poprap. or whatever they show on mtv. I saw the Black Eyed Peas video that this website must be an extension of. Pretty hilarious. It's like the web site but way more in yer face with crazy white trash folks parading around with their 'hip hop' lunchboxes or whatever they are. It was like an info-mercial on crack. --- multsanta <multsanta@home.net> wrote:
