Saw jim o'rouke w/sonic youth opening for pearl jam saturday in tampa, missed the show they did in orlando, cant remember the name alias it was under, but needless to say the sonic youth set was good. they only did about 5 songs, the show was really a pearl jam freak out, but the stuff sonic youth did w/o'rouke was good, stuff he did was mix in some live sampling of kim gordans voice among other things, that she sung into. the crowd was there for pearl jam not sonic youth so i left wanting more sonic youth, should have gone to orlando. anyways if you get the chance check out the stuff jim o'rouke is doing with sonic youth its good, and the stuff under the alias is sopposed to be more experimental and from what people are saying great. and thanks to everyone who replyed about the dr660, i passed on it, but just got cubase which seems extremly powerful and much more in line for what i want to do. -scott --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Are there any recordings of sonic youth doing the live sampling? It's something I'm particularly interested in doing at some point..... Anyone else here doing live sampling type stuff? two bands that immediately come to mind for live sampling are matmos and bassland. chris.
