Sorry to use this list for techy stuff, but I got a lot of help last time (thanks to all), and the volume of musicians with opinions present on this list is something I cannot ignore when the shit hits the fan (as it alwways seem to do) I got a G3 PowerBook, and I'm trying to get some audio files into my computer to spice up my life and my tunes. When I try to record direct into Logic (through my audio in jack), I get nothing but a very low, very clipped signal. I've tried amping it in lots of different ways but nothing seems to work!! Because I've got OS 9, a lot of the soundrecorders I have seem uncompatible, so I'm not sure what I need to do. I don't want to spend hundreds on a PCI card, because I've spoken to a lot of pro's who all just use the built in sound recorder to do their stuff. Can I record direct into Logic, or do I have to import it through a dedicated sound recorder? If so, any good ones compatible with OS 9? Where am I going wrong? if anyone knows can they give us a shout and let me get on with making some music rather than pissing around with these little foibles.
