As one who does a lot of mixing work, I've never found a place on the net devoted solely to or with a good collection of IDM vinyl. It seems to me a shame that so much of what is released is on CD or minidisc.... cdin (phear the merckserve - #// on efnet, the IDM channel) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Kind of on the same thread, I just thought I'd mention that I noticed that www.brainwashed.com/releases/ lists a load of autechre vinyl rereleases due soon... Eddie

supposedly the re-release date was last tuesday. but distributors don't have the goods yet. I've talked to some record shops and they all have pre-orders in but haven't gotten anything yet. steve ----------

for the record (har har), brainwash has a wonderful website, but their "releases" section has always been a little lacking. basically it's in the rumor bin, as it has been for the past two years. brainwashed also had new aphex twin stuff and the "single's box set" and quite a bit of other things that never got released (or even existed in the first place). they're a great place to see when things might get released, or when things are milling around the rumor bin, because the people who update it hear a lot, but it's hardly official. great website, but the only place that would have info about autechre repressing is warp records themselves, who, so far, have been adamantly against repressing old autechre. cheers, -derek

You find a resource which is (arguably) the Internet's most complete listing of upcoming electronic, experimental and related music releases "lacking"? Interesting.

99% of the information I list on that page comes from label websites & upcoming release announcements, and recent/upcoming release listings at reputable online music shops. I can't claim 100% accuracy (that's why there's a disclaimer at the top of the page) since releases are moved, postponed and cancelled on a regular basis. But almost every bit of info on the page comes from reliable sources.

Well, according to sirencd.com (who base their upcoming release listings on distributor order sheets), a bunch of Ae records are due for vinyl re-release on August 28th. They have had upcoming Warp releases listed well before the Warp website itself many times in the past, so they could be right this time as well.
