So do we have to post to the list the location and price of everything we find then? What a weird idea. But while the argument about this auction rages, I'm wondering whether the Gescom MD is any good? It sounds like quite a cool idea, but what's the music like? Also is there any other Gescom stuff recommended? (Yes I know it's usually the guys from Autechre, but this is them doing a different style, no?) Gescom is hit or miss. Some is fantastic (SKA002, SKA007) and some is not (_Motors_, the MiniDIsc release). Well worth picking up, and one of my favorite tracks of all time, is the Ad Vanz vs. Gescom "Viral" on Fat Cat (a split 12" w/Foehn). The MD release has its moments, but they are few and far between. Definitely not worth $20, much less $30. It is, um ... challenging ... listening. It's already been covered, but the collection is snatches of audio spread out over 88(?) tracks and is a bit maddening to listen to as a result. Nothing ever settles in, but I guess that's the point. In other news, I have given Fila Brazillia a second chance and bought their 2cd remix collection. While they do a nice job turning Radiohead into Sade even they can't save Moloko from milking a wasted 6 minutes of my life from me. Unfocused, cluttered, bland and quite enjoyable as a result. The disc, that is. Puts me right to sleep. But why include their Lamb remix? I now own that damn song on 5 different cds! Whoever does their licensing needs to be shot ... And last I heard, Christoph de Babalon was arrested for "promoting a riot" or some such silly German governmental nonsense. As if the disenfranchised, disillusioned and poor need be incited to riot against the status quo. Or complacent middle class students. Anybody heard the new release on Pitchcadet? Looks to be a change from their "usual" output. J "You should dream more, Mr. Wormold. Can't say I'd be surprised if everybody on DHR were arrested at some point, but you may be thinking of Bomb20... http://www.bomb20.com has a few details. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
