hi all, a recommendation/question, since i haven't seen it mentioned here recently. as part of the emusic.com subscription thing i've been enthusiastically drooling over on-list recently, i grabbed the Beth Hirsch single, "P-Town Rubies", which is on Dorado and on the site, and it has me captivated. Think Bjork/Beth Orton with some interesting electronica+orchestra backing. now, i seem to remember she's the vocalist for some of the first Air album, right? But who's this single produced by? And is there an album out/forthcoming? [as a related note, i'm part-way through preparing an exhaustive website on what good idm/electronica/hiphop is available on emusic, label-by-label, and what percentage of any label's catalog is up there, because, to be honest, emusic's site is kinda tricky to search, there's no official website links, not much artist info, and so on. i'll post up when i've finished it - only got as far as 'g' so far. :) ] also, just a quick heads-up, there's a new EP from Binary, "Fusion", on our net.label Monotonik, available on mp3 at: http://www.mono211.com/content/releases/mtkmp31.html Binary is a UK-based musician who originally had a single+album out on Planet Noisebox records in the UK a couple of years back. Anyhow, he decided to quit the music biz entirely and move overseas, so he fortuitously donated us his final album, "Binatone". We'll mp3-release it for free in a couple of weeks. This is a 2-track taster, complete with a cute M.Gundlach remix - think electro-ish idm-ish techno. or something. [The album has a track on it called "Last Night Rob Hubbard Saved My Life" if that gives you a better idea of where Binary's coming from.] regards, h0l. (http://www.mono211.com) ps - does facial hair enhance idm potency? i think the world should be told. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Aw crap! I wanted to put out some Binary! I really really love his stuff. It's a shame he quit, if he really did. His album was really excellent in a _Lunatic Harness_ but way more melodic sort of way. I've still got a remix of "Soft Drink Jihad" he did for us. No idea why I didn't upload it. probably because it's not 128. I think he submitted the final remix on tape or something. Guess I should offer up what we got too. A real shame if he really won't be making anything new. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
