I know this has already been mentioned before but here is a link for more information in case you missed it the first couple times around.... http://www.etown.com/news/article.jhtml?articleID=2708 has information about CD/MP3 player hybrids as well as the new Aiwa car stereo Mp3 player. http://www.etown.com/news/article.jhtml;$sessionid$XLBCBZAAAAFL5UPZJEFCFEQ?articleID=3173 has information about the dropping prices of portable MP3 players and where to find them. There is a definite glitch in the portable player market though. the price of a 32 meg flash card is around $90 and the price of a 64 meg flash card is around $200. the price of the players themselves are in the same range so if your gonna buy a portable player and only want to spend $50-$100 keep in mind the expanded memory is gonna cost you. look for a player with at least 32megs on board or removable flash memory. i have found that MP3's encoded @ 56kbps (as opposed to 128) sound just fine and at that bitrate an entire cd can fit onto a 32 meg flash memory card. and although completely off topic but internet related - Netscape released Communicator 4.74 (previous version was 4.7) and i hope they've worked out some of the bugs.... cheers. justes -- / http://www.staticbeats.com / Music for the Mind | Music for the Soul \ Ambient | Techno | Jungle | Electronica \ Live Streaming M-F 10am - 8pm \ Real Audio Archives 1995 - 2000 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
