Sorry, apologies to disinterested parties. But please can someone give me hints here : To prepare broadcastable mixes I generally use Cool Edit Pro on a PC but I'd like a shortcut to cull short samples from a CD source without having to write the whole track out as a .wav first. Example : if I just want a 20-sec intro from a 7:30min track, usually I have to use Audiograbber to convert the entire track, describe it as a wave graphically, then working with the picture rather than the audio, chop away the bits I don't need until I am left with the 20 seconds that I want. This takes up unnecessary additional time. In the Xing-player / Audiograbber there is a 'play' function where you can start & stop recording just the piece you want and save that as a new wave, but is there a more dedicated programme that will allow me to do this easily? Thank you in advance for help.
